Neurotologist
CentralCare, Inc. is currently seeking a Neurotologist to fill openings with a company located in Bethesda, MD. Interested candidates should Hold a Doctorate Degree in Medicine from an accredited college approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association, a Doctorate Degree in Osteopathy from a college accredited by the American Osteopathic Association, or permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) and possess a minimum of three (3) years’ experience as an American Board of Otolaryngology certified surgeon within the last five (5) years.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Examine, diagnose and treat diseases and disorders of the nervous system.
- Provide immediate evaluation and management of emergency problems as they occur.
- Conduct diagnostic tests and procedures to determine the nature of an illness.
- Determine diagnoses, based on test results and patient observation.
- Discuss treatment options with patients and their families, advising them of the potential benefits and risks
- Develop treatment plans and coordinate care with other medical-service providers.
- Create and maintain patient records.
- Train staff and students.
- Perform lumbar punctures.
- Perform and interpret nerve conduction studies and electromyography.
- Perform evoked potentials and electroencephalograms.
- Provide chemodenervation (such as Botox) for common neurological conditions.
- Ensure a safe work environment and employee safe work habits.
- Perform chemodenervation, such as onabotulinum toxin A injection.
- Complete nerve condition studies/electromyography and interpret electroencephalograms.
- Ensure a safe work environment and employee safe work habits.
- On-call for ECC consults during duty hours.
- Other duties as assigned.
Degree/Education: Hold a Doctorate Degree in Medicine from an accredited college approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association, a Doctorate Degree in Osteopathy from a college accredited by the American Osteopathic Association, or permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).
Certifications/Licensures: Current BCLS, ACLS and ATLS, American Heart Association Health Care Provider course; American Red Cross CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) for the Professional Rescuer; or an equivalent MTF course.
Possess board certification in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery as determined by the American Board of Otolaryngology.
Possess certification of successful completion of a Neurotology fellowship with either board eligibility or board certification in Neurotology.
Have a current unrestricted license to practice as a physician in any one of the 50 states, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
