Neurologist

CentralCare, Inc. is currently seeking a Neurologist to fill openings with a company located on Joint Base Andrews, MD and Joint Base Anacostia- Bolling, DC. Interested candidates should have completed a Fellowship in Neuroradiology, Body Imaging, Musculoskeletal Radiology, Ultrasonography, Pediatric Radiology, Computerized Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Nuclear Medicine or Mammography or other sub-specialty of diagnostic radiology or equivalent experience of at least 24 months within the last 36 months.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Examine, diagnose and treat diseases and disorders of the nervous system.
  • Provide immediate evaluation and management of emergency problems as they occur.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests and procedures to determine the nature of an illness
  • Determine diagnoses, based on test results and patient observation
  • Discuss treatment options with patients and their families, advising them of the potential benefits and risks
  • Develop treatment plans and coordinate care with other medical-service providers
  • Create and maintain patient records
  • Train staff and students
  • Perform lumbar punctures.
  • Perform and interpret nerve conduction studies and electromyography.
  • Perform evoked potentials and electroencephalograms.
  • Provide chemo denervation (such as Botox) for common neurological conditions.
  • Ensure a safe work environment and employee safe work habits.
  • Perform chemodenervation, such as onbotulinum toxin A injection.
  • Complete nerve condition studies/electromyography and interpret electroencephalograms
  • Ensure a safe work environment and employee safe work habits.
  • On-call for ECC consults during duty hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Degree/Education: Physician will have successfully completed an Undergraduate Program, Medical School (M.D. or D.O.), Internship, and Neurology Residency Program.

Certifications/Licensures: Must possess current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred but not required.

Shall be board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology (ABPN).

Must possess a valid unrestricted medical license in at least 1 state, territory or commonwealth of the United States with documentation of licensure to practice medicine.
