Job Description

CentralCare, Inc. is currently seeking an Anesthesiologist to fill openings with a company located in Bethesda, MD. Interested candidates should possess a Doctorate Degree in Medicine from an accredited college approved by designated accredited agency (the Liaison Committee on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association, a Doctorate Degree in Osteopathy from a college accredited by the American Osteopathic Association, or permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) and have two years or more experience with pain management within the past three years.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Shall provide comprehensive Pain Management services to include Interventional Pain Management. Shall serve as Pain Physician providing care and support services to the medical staff, support staff, inpatients, and outpatients. Will also provide educational instruction to residents, fellows, medical students as needed.
  • Shall refer patients to staff specialist for consultative opinions and continuation of care and shall see the patients of other staff health care providers who have been referred for consultation and treatment.
  • Performance of supportive life functions, including endotracheal, intubations, management of blood, fluid and electrolyte loss and replacement in the maintenance of cardiovascular and respiratory functions in the scope of their license.
  • Inspects all equipment and supplies to ensure proper function, type, and quantity prior to the beginning of pain interventional procedures.
  • Obtaining a complete health history and proper patient documentation.
  • Conducting a complete physical screening assessment utilizing techniques of observation, inspection, auscultation, palpitation, and percussion, as well as proper use of instruments to aid in the evaluation.
  • Requesting and evaluating pertinent laboratory studies, radiographic studies and other appropriate studies under the established protocol.
  • Insert peripheral intravenous catheters.
  • Utilizing current techniques in patient monitoring.
  • Perform endotracheal intubations and extubations.
  • Identifying and managing emergency situations
  • Able to identify emergencies involving narcotics and other agents, and implementing appropriate management techniques.
  • Recognize abnormal patient response to medications and implementing corrective action during interventional procedures.
  • Initiate and modify therapies,
  • Initiate and modifying therapies, including drugs and pain therapy within established protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Degree/Education: Possess a Doctorate Degree in Medicine from an accredited college approved by designated accredited agency (the Liaison Committee on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association, a Doctorate Degree in Osteopathy from a college accredited by the American Osteopathic Association, or permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).

Certifications/Licensures: Must possess current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and current ATLS, PALS, and NALS

Possess board certification in Anesthesiology as determined by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) or possess board certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) as determined by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR).

Possess a current, active, unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in any one of the fifty States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Must possess a current Drug Enforcement Agency registration for controlled substances.
